A Flamenco Dance Show
Join flamenco dancer Rosanna Terracciano and guitarist David Matyas on February 4, 2006 for Flamenco Forms: a presentation of flamenco’s emotional range through its most poignant dance forms. Special guests will include percussionist Robin Tufts on cajon, and dancers Graziella Terracciano and Francesca Canalizo.

On October 28, members of Alberta’s flamenco dance scene will take the stage for the second annual celebration of flamenco music and dance in the show entitled ¡FLAMENCO! 2. The repertoire for ¡FLAMENCO! 2 will feature traditional flamenco forms, performed by Calgary dancers Rosanna Terracciano, Tracy Cumberbatch, Francesca Canalizo, Graziella Terracciano and Edmonton’s Jane Ogilvie, to the accompaniment of guitarist David Matyas and percussionist Dwayne Engh on cajon.

Fiona Malena Flamenco Society presents Poesía Gitana an explosive new dance and live music production by guitarist Holly Blazina and dancer Fiona Malena. Performed in the inspiring ambience of the Calgary Opera Centre, formerly the Wesley Church, they are joined by percussionist and santour player Amir Amiri and violinist Karen Sim. Together the musicians create a rich and interactive musical experience that explores the hope, desire and loss experienced by the gypsies of Spain.
